Stop telling people that Oscar Wilde’s English when he’s referred to as a genius, and stop telling people that he’s Irish when he’s referred to as gay. He was a bent Irish genius, leave it at that.

Te comments on this are embarrassing. Mostly just a large argument between people who understand basic irony, and people who think the Irish are “holding a grudge and need to let it go”. The worst part is that the latter group are almost exclusively Irish.
